You must know wall decoration. Yes that’s wall art. If you are doing a lot of surfing on the internet and visiting commercial sites, such as Pottery Barn, Wall art, etc., you surely will find many terms of this wall art. Wall art is a decorative element on the wall that will add value from a two-dimensional objects (paintings, portraits, graphic results, etc.) or three-dimensional objects (paper tool, old cutlery, statuettes and other) .To see a wall art, you should first understand what things that can form a wall art.

What thing that can form the wall art?

1. Frame

Frame is like the limits on the camera lens that help our view focusing to a subject that would like to be highlighted. Frame of course closely related to a two-dimensional objects or three dimensional which functioned as a decorative element.

a. Matboard
Is a thick cardboard that is placed around the image in any size and desired width. A media that will be framed without using matboard will stick to the inner glass surface, making it easy moist and easy to mold, due to changes in glass temperature. Matboard gives the distance between the glass and the media so that will avoid damage and becomes more beautiful because it evokes a three-dimensional effect.

b. Linen
It is a wooden frame covered in cloth like canvas. Its function is similar to matboard, usually used to frame the painting without glass.

c. Spanram
Framework from raw wood to expand and hold the canvas before painting is paired to the frame.

d. Glass
Glass installed as overlays on top of media in order can durable and not easily soiled or damp.

e. Rope / wire hanger
Rope / wire was mounted on the rear frame in order can be hung on the wall.

f. Hook
Is a link that is placed on the back of the frame if you want to hang a frame without a rope, or as a place to tie the rope on the back of the frame.

g. Paper Tape
Masking tape is placed around the back of the frame for an air-tight.

h. Backing
Closing the back of the frame, usually made of plywood or softboard.

i. Leg frame
Wooden frame mounted on the back of the frame so the frame can be placed standing on the table.

2. Object

Objects on the wall art can be a two-dimensional object or objects in three dimensions.

a. Two-dimensional objects
Paintings, portraits, graphics results, or posters are belonging to the two-dimensional objects. The pictures like these, which can be referred to as non-verbal images are a medium of communication. A picture can say much more about everything. Picture is surely talking!

b. Three-dimensional objects
Now as the development in the world of design, objects are not merely used as wall art in the form of paintings, and photographs. Sometimes you can find, a collection of mini-collections of sculpture or puppet person or collection of framed ancient cutlery and then mounted on the wall. Wall art like these functioned are more as a means of showing off the collect.
