Elements of feng shui, it can simply be defined as the five elements of nature that greatly affect our lives, and if applied correctly, it will be able to create an environment that is comfortable for humans. The five elements are:

* Water, is like learning something, calm, cold (winter) and describes a journey. Symbolized by black color.
* Fire, is energetic, hot and dangerous. Symbolized by red color.
* Wood, associated with creativity, is like a “spring” and oriented to “change.” Symbolized by green.
* Metal, dealing with business, is like “autumn” and success-oriented. Symbolized by  white.
* Land, associated with a trait of patience, stable and is the center of all things. Symbolized by  yellow.

The five elements above must be balanced in the home, in order to create  a comfortable home to live in, because these five elements affect each other in productive and destructive cycle.

Productive cycle  build harmony, namely wood fire, the fire turned into ashes, and close the land or earth, soil forming minerals and metal , metal can melt into water and feed timber.

Meanwhile the destructive cycle of wood take the land, the land  supports itself by drinking water, water  extinguish the fire, fire destroys metal and metal destroys wood.

If you want to apply those to a room in the house, you need to always remember that the five elements must support each other to create a balance so as to provide harmony in the house.

How to achieve balance?

The most principle is that you must avoid a room which is dominated by one color or “elements” of it. This will lead to a destructive cycle because one of these elements will turn off the other elements without balance. If you like a particular color, for example yellow and make the theme color of your house, you can combine other colors in home accessories such as curtains, pillow or rug.

However, if applied properly, feng shui really can bring positive energy in our homes because of the balance that is sought.
